Colonics or Enemas? What is the Difference?

Enemas

You take an enema, usually in response to being constipated.

• An enema will loosen and break-up up a concentrated mass of fecal matter in the rectum or very bottom of the colon, and allow you to expel it comfortably.
• An enema, on average, is a once or a twice a year occurrence.
• People give themselves enemas at home.
• Sometimes people use enemas to clean themselves in preparation for anal sex.
• Enemas are usually a one off. You inject the water once, and that’s it. However, once in a while, you run across compacted fecal matter that requires more than one enema.
• You can buy enema kit materials at the drugstore and many larger supermarkets.
• Enema bags come in many different styles, from the old-fashioned large combination douche bag / hot water bottle, to the more modern syringe kits made specifically for enemas

Colonics

Using colonics to cleanse your body, is a lifestyle choice.

• Colonics clean the entire colon.
• Colonics are usually administered by a colon hydrotherapist.
• However, you can administer a colonic at home using a colema board.
• Colonics requires that water be injected into your body multiple times.
• Evacuation of all waste and fecal matter is handled by the colonics machinery, and you neither see, (unless you request to do so,) or smell your waste matter.
